KAVITA TURNS ON THE STYLE
Kavita, who runs Derby-based health IT training firm Oberoi Consulting, was a finalist in the entrepreneur of the year award. She said: "It was a glamorous evening and I wanted my family to travel there in style. It was my way of saying thank you for all the support they have given me." Although she missed out on the award, compere Meera Syal said the judges had asked that make a special mention of Kavita as an outstanding entrant. Meera added that Kavita was only just pipped to the post and officially runner-up. She said this will only be the foundation of Kavita's development and successes. The Department of Trade and Industry has also invited Kavita down to London for a live webcast on the Women in Business Network website on June 22. And the Economic Times of India was also planning yesterday to run an article about Kavita's achievements. Oberoi Consulting has provided IT training to more than 20 per cent of GP practices since Kavita launched the firm in 2001. Demand for Oberoi services is growing so fast the workforce could treble this year. Kavita said: "It was a wonderful evening and it was great to meet Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Cherie Blair." |
